Welcome to the Mansfield’s Heroes Memorial Fund  website.

The Mansfield’s Heroes Memorial Fund was launched in October 2009 to raise funds to establish a permanent memorial to the service men and women of the District of Mansfield who have been killed in action since the end of World War Two. It also honours service men and women who died while in service or as a direct result of their service.

Although the names of those from Mansfield who fell in the two Great Wars are recorded in a book of remembrance in the Civic Centre, there was no memorial to the names of those who have paid the ultimate price since. Thanks to incredible efforts by the people of Mansfield and a large donation from Nottinghamshire County Council’s Local Improvement Scheme, that has now been rectified.

The brand new memorial, which cost nearly £70,000 to build stands proudly in Carr Bank Park, Mansfield; the Town’s Memorial Gardens. It is a testimony to the selfless acts of our service men and women and the incredible generosity and pride of the Mansfield public

The Fund will carry on fundraising so it can support  local ex-servicemen and women that need assistance in the civilian lives by making donations to organisations that work closely with veterans and ex-services personnel.

There is no greater price to pay than to lay down your life for your family, friends and country.
